(This may seem like a repeat of the last posting, but that's because it's the same event at it's correct new date.)

I'm bringing my one-of-a-kind brand of musical excitement and infectious punky new-wave indie rock to the Mr. B Restaurant and Steakhouse in Burbank! It will be an incredible show, I guarantee that you've never seen anything like it. And you will like it!

I'll be opening once again for the indomitable and quite frightening group of musical arsonists known only as "Rover's Pinky".

I've intentionally scheduled an early slot this time so that all of my fans can come out and see me and still get up early in the morning for work or whatever.

Did I mention that this is a FREE show! That?s right, this is a completely free show! Mr. B is a fine restaurant, so they are hoping that my dulcet tones will help you to digest lots of yummy food... or something.

Just come out and see the show already! It will be AWESOME! An awesome display of awesome awesomeness that is too awesome to be denied.

Really!

I'm playing a real show over at CIA in North Hollywood this Saturday at 10pm! It's at CIA - The California Institute of Abnormal Arts, a club with a kind of twisted circus theme... they have lots of neat exhibits of old circus curiosities, in addition to the the fine bands that play there.

The bill also contains four other bands, "El Mundo Rocko Bizarro", "The Hell Surfer's", "Rover's Pinky", and "Sky Wreck".

I'm really excited! Won't you all come out and see me play? There is no Syren event this weekend, so I'm sure you are all looking for a cool place to hang. Cover is $10, but it's well worth it for all the awesomeness you will partake of if you come! I'll be playing a bunch of new songs that aren't on my CD or on my website, so your certain to hear something new!

(Yes, of course it's a venue that accepts T-girls. It's the "California Institute for Abnormal Arts" for cryin' out loud!)

Special thanks to Adrian and Al of Rover's Pinky for getting me on the bill!

Info is always available on my website at http://www.tinabelmont.com.

I've been keeping pretty busy. I've been trying to knock out at least one new song every week, for at least one of my two persona (mostly the other one, for now) and have been perfecting my equipment for the live shows.
Alas, there has also been some drama lately. I made the mistake of offering one of my clients some free updates, which they then proceeded to take advantage of... by asking for them every 2-5 days!
Things have been very lonely lately. I'm not sure what to do about it. Nobody seems to have time to hang out with me anymore. I need a certain amount of socialization each day or I become unmotivated and unproductive. I'm on my break right now... I should be happy and having fun. Why aren't I?

Googling and dating part 2 [Jan. 16th, 2007|12:09 am]

The date went ok, and having read the LJ actually did make the conversation go more smoothly. Assuming they weren't creeped out by all the stuff I knew about their personal life, it was nice to be able to fill lulls in the conversation by asking about things from their LJ. I felt like things moved along quite well and we had a pleasant time.

I'm waiting for the critique of our date to appear in their live journal!

Maybe a little mystery is a good thing? [Jan. 15th, 2007|01:01 am]

I'm trying online dating again. One of the nice things about the internet is the complete transparency... you can Google someone and find out stuff about them. You might even read their livejournal or something. If someone was a terrible person, you'd know in advance! You could run away!

The problem, of course, is that when people gush out their lives in their blog, it's usually their weaker parts that show. I know that my LJ shows all sorts of troubles that I used to have that I just haven't bothered to write about much once I got over them. A very lopsided picture!

Furthermore, if you know too much about the details of someone's life before you meet them, do you really have much left to discover when you finally do meet them? Wouldn't it be more exciting... more romantic to uncover each other's mysteries together?

Well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow...

Trying another dating website... [Jan. 7th, 2007|12:38 am]

After my last terrible attempt at trying a dating website over 3 years ago ended in disaster, I pretty much gave up on online dating. American Singles cost me $50, I didn't meet anybody, and it didn't really work properly (chat didn't work on Firefox, crashed alot on IE). American Singles sucks.

Recently, I have tried a new website called okCupid that is free, and actually seems to be pretty decent. It is turning up some decent people that I feel like I might click with.

Over the last two years, I've gone on a lot of non-dates with people I'd met at clubs and open-mike nights,  and not getting anywhere. I'm hoping that the people I'm meeting now turn out better.

Burglerized [Oct. 12th, 2005|10:57 am]
Tina Belmont
[mood |scaredscared]

On Sunday, between 3am and 9am, somebody snuck into the locked garage of our parking structure, broke my car window, and stole a bunch of stuff out of the glove box and the console, including an old digital camera I used to record accidents, an old cel phone for emergencies, and a set of tools.

When I discovered this, I was on my way to a show, so I was all done up in two hours of makeup and a tight blue dress. I had to go back inside and call the police and my insurance company. At least they didn't come over to take a statement.

Repairing the window cost $135. Because they left the glove box open all night and the light in the glove box was on, the battery went dead and I had to have the car jump started. The value of the property lost was probably around $400 (at least, new it was that much.)

The thing that bothers me isn't the money... it's that I don't feel safe in my apartment anymore. We used to have a manager who watched over things, but the owners fired them and hired a property management company. They refuse to take responsibility, even though they should be checking the property each day to make sure it is in decent shape. I was screaming at the lady from the property management company because I was so angry with them.
